PANAJI: In lines with the Central Board, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) today announced a policy to evaluate the performance of Class XII students.
As per the policy, 40 percent of the marks will be based on the performance of students in Class 12 pre-board exams, 30 percent on their Class 11 final exams and 30 percent marks will be based on the best-of-three Class 10 subject marks.
“The assessment of class XII will be a composite measure that reflects the students performance in: school based performance in class XII and class XI exams and results of the performance in best three subjects in class-X Board exams,” the Board said.
The Board has asked Higher Secondary schools to put in place Result committee consisting of principal and four senior teachers representing each stream.
The Board has also said that the students, who are not satisfied with the assessment of objective criterion, will be provided the option to appear in the examination, as and when the situation becomes conducive to hold the exams.
The Class 12 exams, supposed to be held from April 24, had to be cancelled in view of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The Board is likely to announce the result on July 20.
The Supreme Court, while accepting CBSE policy on tabulation of marks for Class XII, had directed all State Board to come out with the policy and declare result before July 30.
