PANAJI: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) today declared the HSSC 2023 results with a pass percentage of 95.46%.
As per information from the board, 9,377 appeared for the examination, of which 18 497 passed the information.
The Board Chairman Bhagirath Shetye said that the passing percentage of boys is 95.03% and girls are 95.88 per cent.
Commerce saw a pass percentage of 96.5%, science saw 96.1%, and arts saw a pass percentage of 95.1% at the Class XII exams of the Goa Board.
Most students, i.e. 10,291, scored between 60%-80% on the Goa Board Class XII exams.
Of over 3200 Class XII students who availed sports merit marks, only 84 could clear the exam with the help of the concession.
Sanguem Taluka at 98.6%, Salcete at 97.7% and Canacona at 97.5% saw the highest number of students clearing the Class XII exams.
The Board Chairman said that Class X results of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education will be declared by May 15.
For the last two academic years, the Goa board has followed the two-term system because of the Covid pandemic, wherein two-term exams are held, and marks of both terms are combined to prepare the final mark sheet.
Passing Percentage for the past five years is as follows 2019- 89.59 %, 2020- 89.27 %, 2021- (No examination due to covid) 99.40 % based on internals marks, 2022- (first year of the two-term system) 92.66%, 2023- (Second year of the two-term system) 95.46%
