PANAJI: The Goa government will present a “realistic budget” for fiscal 2023-24 in the upcoming Assembly session, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Tuesday.
The budget session of the Goa Legislative Assembly will be held from March 27 to March 31. However, the date for the budget presentation is yet to be decided.
As a part of the pre-budget consultative exercise, the chief minister on Tuesday held a meeting with chairpersons and member-secretaries of various state-run corporations.
Talking to reporters, Sawant said state-run corporations had been asked to be financially self-sufficient during the upcoming fiscal year.
He said the state government would provide all necessary help to the corporations to shore up their financial condition.
The CM said representatives of 35 to 40 state-run corporations participated in the meeting.
“The budget (for next fiscal) would be realistic,” said Sawant, who also holds the finance portfolio.
