Panaji: Goa Aam Aadmi Party President Valmiki Naik on Friday criticised the Goa Budget 2026–27, alleging that it was filled with announcements but lacked accountability and concrete outcomes.
Reacting to the budget presented by the Government of Goa, Naik said a budget should not merely list promises but must also report achievements and outcomes from the previous year’s budget.
He stated that the budget failed to address major issues affecting the state, including unemployment, rising prices and the deteriorating law and order situation.
Naik further alleged that several promises announced in the latest budget were repetitions of commitments made in previous budgets without any visible results.
However, he said the only positive aspect was the government’s announcement to increase coverage and procedures under the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY). According to him, the move appeared to be a response to AAP’s campaign demanding improvements in healthcare facilities in Goa.
