PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant announced that the Goa state cabinet has decided to scrap all government vehicles that are over 15 years old, as part of the vehicle scrappage scheme.
The CM said that all government department vehicles identified for scrapping will be disposed of within the next two months.
So far, around 250 vehicles, some aged between 25 to 40 years, have already been scrapped, generating approximately ₹2 crore in revenue for the state.
The move is aimed at modernizing the government fleet and improving efficiency.
In addition, the cabinet has approved renovation works for the roofing of all government buildings across the state, ensuring better maintenance and safety standards.
