PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that Cabinet has accorded approval to Mining Dump Handling Policy.
“Today cabinet has granted nod to Mining Dump Handling Policy. In the first phase, erstwhile leaseholders where dumps are in their own private property will be permitted to handle the dumps,” said Sawant.
He further many amendments have been made in the Mining Dump Handling Police and no one just quote i.e either he should be the lease holder for export.
“Earlier anyone used to quote the same and block it. Erstwhile leaseholders where dumps are in their own private property will be permitted to handle the dumps and state government has the right,’ he added.
Sawant said that government has received 10-12 applications.
“This is the first phase, step by step each decision would be taken. We are currently focusing on erstwhile leaseholders who have paid conversion charges,” he added.
CM Sawant said that around 10 million of ore dump is lying on private land for which conversation fee has already been paid.
CM further said that only those erstwhile lease holders who have cleared all their pending dues are allowed to handle dump.
“Around Rs 200 crore revenue is expected from handling of these dumps. The erstwhile lease holders will have to pay royalty and premium before handling dump,” he added.
Meanwhile, the debt relief scheme for mining affect people have been extended.
