CUNCOLIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant paid tributes to the Chieftain Martyrs as Goa celebrated the First State Function of Chieftain Martyr’s Day at Chieftain Memorial, Cuncolim. Freedom Fighters, Minister Nilesh Cabral, Subhash Phal Dessai, MLA Yuri Alemao MLA Ulhas Tuenkar, DGP Goa Jaspal Singh, Former MLA Rajan Naik and other dignitaries and people of Cuncolim were present at the occasion.
Speaking on occasion, Chief Minister said that 15th July is an exemplary occasion for Goans to celebrate as ‘National War Memorial Day’ at the National War Memorial, New Delhi.
“My heartfelt tributes to the Chieftain Martyrs who laid their lives for the cause of ‘Dev, Desh and Dharma’ during the revolt. They fought against the cruel Portuguese regime. We take inspiration from them and are committed to working for the State and the people,” he said.
