NEW DELHI:
On July 15, 2024, at 12 noon, Sanjeev Ahuja IAS, Resident Commissioner and Vikas Kamble, Dy. Resident Commissioner, Goa Sadan, New Delhi paid homage to all the brave hearts who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation since Independence at the National War Memorial in Delhi
The officials also paid homage to five martyrs from Goa viz;
1. 2nd Lt. Jayendra Jaisingh Rane, VrC (posthumous) of 5 GARH RIF
2. Sep. Tukaram Gawas, 4 Maratha LI
3. CFN. Binnar M Bhagwat of 6003. (I) ARMD WKSP
4. Lt. N A Mayekar, Kc of 11 Sikh
5. SPR. R S Shinde, SC of 44 RR/MEG of the Indian Army, who were from Goa and laid their life during various operations. Names of these soldiers are inscribed on the Roll of Honour at the National War Memorial.
