PORVORIM: Chief Minster Pramod Sawant today said that aviation skill center at Manohar International Airport will not be shut.
Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar raised question as to how many youth were benefitted from ASDC centre at Mopa Airport and what is the future of candidates who have completed the course but are jobless at home.
“Aviation skill center at Mopa airport will not be closed. Almost 820 candidates have taken training at skill development center at Manohar International Airport,” said Sawant.
He further said that 90% have joined services while 10% have opted for other options in the country.
“90 percent of the youth passed from Aviation Skill Development Centre at Mopa Airport have joined the job,” he added.
AAP MLA Cruz Silva questioned the Chief Minister whether courses offered by Aviation Skill Development Centre at Mopa are internationally recognized. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that he will check on the international recognition and if not, then will ask GMR to apply for it.
