PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today assured the House that the Cyber Crime Cell would take action against Instagram and other micro blogging site users who were disparaging Goa in their posts.
Vasco MLA Daji Salkar brought up the subject on Tuesday during Zero Hour. Salkar noted that some Instagram users who travel to Goa disparage the nation and religion in their posts.
Additionally, he claimed that these users disseminated erroneous information about the state. Although we enjoy having visitors, we cannot allow the state to be misrepresented, he said.
According to Salkar, these accounts ought to be suspended.
In response to Salkar, Sawant stated that he would request that the Cyber Crime Cell take appropriate action.
