PANJAI: Avoiding any direct reference to government plans to set up Film city in Canacona, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant hinted a ‘Film Industry Skilling Centre’ and Dairy Training Centre on par with Aviation Skill Development Centre (ASDC) at Mopa Airport can be opened to the train youths and develop their skills in respective trades.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant was speaking at Inaugural Function of the Centenary celebrations Damodar Vidyaprasarak Saunstha’s Shri Damodar Vidyalaya at Loliem on Wednesay late evening.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sawant called on the Teachers and parents alike to mould their pupils and children to prepare to answer GPSC examinations right from 8th Std.
“Why do we see more people in UPSC, IAS, IPS, in other States, because their parents gets them prepared from 8th, 9th or 10th Stds. Here our Teachers should do it, and prepare children right from Schooling level to ansever various competitive exams like GPSC, UPSC, Banking, Postal, Railway Recruitment. As of now Staff Selection is compulsory in Goa. So training the children in advance is a must creteria,” he said.
Stating Canacona’s Vision-2030 will get incorporated with State’s and Centre’s Vikashit Bharat-2047, why our PM said 2047, because we are completing 100 years in next 25 years (2047).
“We we speak about about 2047, we required to think is what is needed in Canacona and the whole State of Goa, including right from Dairy to Film City, everybodys development should take place,” he said.
Sawant said if any youths are left unprogressed and he/she enters Dairy farming their developments should take place in dairy farming and the persons willing to work in Film Industry (working in film industry doesn’t mean that evenone should be a Hero and Heroine, but the technical force behind it is a major industry.
“When Mopa International Airport happened, we started an Aviation Skill Development Centre(ASDC) there, trained 2000, out of which 1300 are employed at Mopa Arport and balance 700 youths have began to work in Hotel Industry elsewhere in the State,” he stated.
If we can open up ASDC in Mopa, likewise when we are starting Dairy in Canacona, whatever is required for a Dairy like Kudti training centre can be started here or to get necessary Technical Support needed for a Film Industry, a Skilling Centre can be started at Canacona, he said.
“I don’t only speak about Agriculture, Horticulture, Fishiculture, Dairy Culture but also bring out the concept of Skilling, Re-Skilling and Up-Skilling as part of Swayampurna Goa 2.4 mission,” Sawant said.
Stating the Scheme for Funding Centenery Celebrations is closed, declares to open the Centenary Scheme for Institutions and government will revise and re-Introduce Hostel Scheme for supporting Hostels. ‘ Maximum Hostels are run in Canacona taluka, 4-5 Hostels are run in Canacoa besides the one run by Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar.
Earleir, Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phaldessai, Canacona MLA and Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, spoke , while Damodar Vidyaprasarak Saunstha- President Vishwajeet Warik welcome, as many as 7 benefactors including First Chief Minister of Goa Dayanand Bandodkar and Diogo Luis Fernandes (father of Ex-MLA Isidore Fernandes) of Shree Damodar Vidyalaya were felicitated Posthumously. SSC Toppers from school since 1964 were also faliticated some posthumously.
