PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has expressed concern over the rising number of police complaints filed against teachers, particularly regarding allegations of assault by students.
During an interaction, CM highlighted the need for a shift in the way education is delivered, urging teachers to embrace the Mulyavardhan (Value Added) education system as a solution to these conflicts.
Dr. Sawant emphasized that education should go beyond traditional methods and focus on fostering creativity and emotional intelligence in students.
“When teachers adopt the Mulyavardhan system, they not only teach academic lessons but also promote the inherent creativity within students, building stronger bonds between teachers and pupils. It is crucial that we shift our focus towards empowering students and nurturing their potential,” he said.
In addressing the issue of rural school closures, Dr. Sawant clarified that while the government does not intend to shut down schools, many rural institutions are forced to close due to the migration of families to urban areas in search of better educational opportunities. “We need to recognize the value of education in rural schools. While the government is committed to keeping these schools open, it is equally important for parents to support them,” the CM remarked.
Dr. Sawant also praised the positive transformation in schools after the introduction of Mulyavardhan, noting a significant change in student and teacher behavior. “The adoption of this value-added education system has brought about a sea change in the way students and teachers interact. It is leading to a more engaging and harmonious learning environment.”
