PANAJI: The Bharatiya Janata Party core committee today held a key meeting to deliberate on the upcoming Assembly session, the State Budget, the Ponda by-election and the forthcoming Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) polls.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who chaired the meeting, said the party discussed various organisational and governance-related issues, including municipal elections and preparations for the Ponda by-polls.
Speaking after the meeting, the Chief Minister said that consultations are underway to ensure that the forthcoming Budget reflects the aspirations of the people.
“The BJP Core Committee discussed various issues, including the upcoming Assembly session, CCP polls, Ponda by-polls and municipal elections. I have held discussions with industry representatives and sought suggestions from the general public for the Budget,” Sawant said.
He added that the government is working towards presenting a people-centric and development-oriented Budget in the forthcoming Assembly session.
