PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that this Budget 23-24 will be realistic and futuristic and that his government has set targets to achieve revenue and expenditure.
CM Sawant chaired the Pre-Budget orientation meeting on the Goa State budget for FY 2023-24 with the Secretaries, HoDs and other officials.
“I chaired the Pre-Budget orientation meeting on the Goa State budget for FY 2023-24 with the Secretaries, HoDs and other officials. The Budget 23-24 will be realistic & futuristic. We have set targets to achieve revenue and expenditure,” said CM Sawant.
He further said that this is the first exercise wherein heads of department and accountants were called in for a review meeting on the budget.
“98 per cent revenue receipts from last year have been achieved, and we were able to implement 90 per cent of the budget,” said Sawant.
Sawant said that this budget will fully focus on swayampurna Goa, mainly on skill development, and will also reach the last person in Goa.
“Education, health, sanitation, and tribal sectors will be stressed more in this budget. This budget will be achieved without stressing much on taxpayers,” he added.
Sawant also said there will be G20 and National Games Goa budget provisions.
The budget session of the Goa Legislative Assembly is slated to be held from March 27, with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expected to present the State’s budget for 2023-24 on day one itself, government sources said.
The one-week Budget session will see Chief Minister Pramod Sawant tabling financial statements for the year 2023-24 and taking Vote on Account.
