New Delhi:
Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today chaired a meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) on GST Revenue Analysis in New Delhi to review state-wise revenue trends and explore strategies for improving GST collections.
During the meeting, members conducted a comparative analysis of pre- and post-GST revenue performance to better understand the impact of the tax regime over time.
The discussions also focused on identifying sector-specific revenue leakages and designing corrective measures to plug them effectively.
Evaluating the performance of various compliance enforcement tools emerged as a key area of deliberation, alongside the need for further enhancements in e-invoicing systems and IT infrastructure to improve traceability of transactions. The GoM examined state-specific policy suggestions aimed at boosting revenue mobilisation and strengthening coordination between Central and State tax administrations.
Dr Sawant underscored the importance of ensuring a robust, transparent, and equitable GST framework that can reinforce India’s fiscal ecosystem and help realise the vision of ‘One Nation, One Tax’.
