PANAJI: State Curriculum Development Committees for the Preparatory and Middle Stages have told Chief Minister Pramod Sawant that it is the process of developing curricula for NEP implementation at their respective stages, starting from the next academic year.
The NEP Steering Committee Meeting was held on Sept 2, 2024, at Mantralaya, Porvorim. The meeting was chaired by the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister conducted a thorough review of the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the state’s school education system.
The Secretary of Education provided a detailed briefing on the current status of NEP-2020 implementation in the state, highlighting the following key points, that State Curriculum Framework for the Foundational and Secondary Stages has been officially notified.
“The curriculum for Foundational Stage I and Foundational Stage II has been developed and distributed to all schools. Art and Vocational Education teachers have been allocated to all schools to introduce Art Education as part of the NEP-2020 implementation,” the meeting discussed.
Further discussions took place on teachers instructing Class IX have received training in Learning Outcomes, Assessment Rubrics, and Evaluation Patterns.
Also, State Curriculum Development Committees for the Preparatory and Middle Stages are in the process of developing curricula for NEP implementation at their respective stages, starting from the next academic year was also discussed.
The PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 (formerly known as NAS) is also scheduled for November 19, 2024.
To prepare for this, it has been decided to conduct pre-tests for students in Classes 3, 6, and 9 across all schools in Goa on September 4, 2024. Schools will receive daily questions, in addition to the existing weekly questions, through Vidya Samiksha Kedra (SCERT) to help students prepare for the Rashtriya Sarvekshan,” the meeting discussed.
