PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners on the successful passage of the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 in the Lok Sabha.
The bill, which aims to bring significant reforms to the management of Waqf properties, was lauded by CM Sawant for its potential to promote transparency, accountability, and inclusive representation in the operations of Waqf Boards.
In a statement, Dr. Sawant emphasized that the passage of the bill reinforces the rule of law and ensures efficient management of Waqf properties, which are crucial for the welfare of minority communities.
“This reform will ensure that the Waqf Board functions with greater transparency and accountability, and that it serves the needs of the community in a more inclusive and effective manner,” the Chief Minister stated.
