PORVORIM: Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has welcomed the launch of the NextGen GST reforms by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing them as a special Navratri gift for citizens aimed at simplifying processes and enhancing ease of doing business.
Speaking as a member of the GST Council, Sawant said the new measures, guided by the principle of Nagarik Devo Bhava, mark the start of the GST Bachat Utsav. He emphasized that these reforms will strengthen India’s journey towards Atmanirbhar Bharat 2.0.
“The road to a developed India is driven by Swadeshi. Initiatives like GST, IBC, Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, and PLI have propelled India from ‘Make in India’ to ‘Make for the World’,” Sawant said in a post on X.
Highlighting the Prime Minister’s call to states, Sawant added that governments should foster a robust ecosystem for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), enhance infrastructure to attract investment, and boost manufacturing competitiveness under the vision of Vocal for Local, Think Global.
He assured that Goa is committed to this mission by modernising infrastructure, simplifying business processes, and empowering entrepreneurs, ensuring that Swadeshi products gain prominence both in India and globally.
The NextGen GST reforms were launched by the Prime Minister alongside Navratri greetings to the nation.
