MUMBAI: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated and addressed the OSH India Conference & Exhibition 2025 in Mumbai, emphasizing that workplace safety and health have become a national priority that goes far beyond mere regulatory compliance.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Sawant said, “Safer workplaces mean stronger industries and a stronger India.” He highlighted India’s progress in adopting personal protective equipment (PPE), promoting mental health, fostering sustainability, and driving innovation in occupational safety standards.
The Chief Minister underlined Goa’s commitment to worker welfare, safety, and well-being, citing initiatives by the Inspectorate of Factories & Boilers, the ESI Scheme, and other welfare programs that extend benefits to healthcare, education, and social security for workers and their families.
Dr. Sawant added that with the evolving workplace environment, including digital workplaces, sustainability initiatives, and mental health concerns, compliance must now evolve into a culture of care rather than just a legal requirement.
He expressed gratitude to Informa Markets and OSH India for providing a platform to share experiences and best practices, reaffirming Goa’s dedication to aligning with global occupational safety and health standards.
