SANKHALI: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated a state-of-the-art STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Lab at the Government Higher Secondary School in Sankhali, terming it a crucial step toward nurturing innovation and digital skills among Goa’s youth.
The initiative, launched under ONGC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme through the Goa CSR Authority, is one of six such labs being set up across the state to promote hands-on learning in science, robotics, and emerging technologies.
Speaking at the event, CM Sawant said, “This STEM Lab is part of our vision for a Viksit Bharat @2047. It supports NEP 2020 goals and will empower students to explore, experiment, and excel. Building a future-ready Goa begins with creating such opportunities in our schools.”
Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar was also present for the inauguration, alongside local officials and educators who welcomed the facility as a significant boost for science and technology education in North Goa.
The lab aims to provide experiential learning, develop problem-solving skills, and spark curiosity in young minds, bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world applications.
