He was accompanied by local MLAs Dr. Chandrakant Shetye and Shri Premendra Shet, along with senior government officials.
The Chief Minister visited the Government ITI and Government Polytechnic in Bicholim, where he took stock of the projects being implemented under the Tata Technologies initiative, as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the state government. During his interaction with faculty and staff, Dr. Sawant emphasized the importance of increasing youth participation in skill development programs.
He urged the staff to intensify outreach efforts in surrounding areas to boost student enrollment and ensure that advanced training opportunities are made accessible to local youth. “Skill development is the backbone of a self-reliant Goa,” he remarked, adding that the goal should be 100% placement of trained youth in industries.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of the upcoming New Administrative Building in Bicholim. He noted that the project is a significant step towards decentralizing governance and enhancing the efficiency of public service delivery in the region. The building is expected to be completed by 2027 and will house multiple government departments under one roof.
