SURLA-SANKHALI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated the Community Farming & Farmer Excellence initiative at Surla in Sankhali, marking the rollout of a flagship programme aimed at strengthening collective farming practices in the State.
The initiative, implemented by the Directorate of Agriculture, seeks to promote community-based farming models and ensure optimal utilisation of agricultural land to enhance productivity and sustainability.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in agriculture and highlighted the government’s focus on empowering farmers through innovation-driven practices.
On the occasion, progressive farmers were felicitated in recognition of their innovation, commitment and significant contribution to advancing modern agricultural methods in Goa.
Among those present were ZP Member Sunder Naik, Sarpanch Suchita Gavkar, Director of Agriculture Sandeep Fol Dessai, Pandurang Puttikar, along with progressive farmers and local representatives.
