PANAJI: The launch of the District Panchayat Development Plan will enable stakeholders to make proper development of their respective constituencies, stated Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, speaking after launching District Panchayat Development Plan( DPDP) at a function organized by North Goa Zilla Panchayat held in the city today.
The Chief Minister further urged the stakeholders of Zilla Panchayat to walk the extra mile to tackle and manage various issues plaguing one’s village like garbage, environment water, sewerage etc. The Government will provide all sorts of cooperation apart from financial assistance.
The central Government under the Atmanirbhar mission has implemented several schemes in the interest of the common man. Work out a proper plan to avail financial assistance to undertake projects like solar projects, fisheries, sewerage plants etc. He said this would help the Government accomplish its objective of Swayampurna Goa. He remarked that proper planning can help achieve the desired development in all sectors.
Minister for Panchayati Raj, Mauvin Godinho, called upon the representatives of Zilla Panchayat to work with missionary zeal, strive to do proper planning and work accordingly. This, he said, would enable them to achieve the desired development of their villages. He said there are many areas which require focus, like stray cattle issue and problems concerning cleanliness and urged them to work out a mechanism to arrest garbage dumping, initiate steps to help the green Goa mission of the Government etc. Plan to undertake such projects that will help elevate human living standards, maintain the environment, and tackle sewage problems by making our living healthy. He appealed to the stakeholders of Village Panchayat and Zilla Panchayats to cooperate with the Government to acquire all-around development of the State.
President North Goa Zilla Parishad Siddesh Naik said that the District Panchayat Development Plan ( DPDP) will enable them to undertake not only infrastructural developmental work but also help to work for humane development. He said garbage, stray castle issue, and protection of the environment can be addressed and initiate steps to resolve the same. He requested the Chief Minister to enhance and provide sufficient budgetary provisions to enable them to undertake various works in the larger public interest.
Secretary Panchayat Menino D’Souza, IAS, also spoke on the occasion.
Ex- ZP Members, namely Anil Hoble, Premnath Mhavlingkar, Vishwanath Prabhu, Smt Amol Morajkar, Pandurang Parab, Jayesh Salgaonkar, Smt Ankita Navelkar and those who enjoyed the position of Vice President of North Goa ZP namely Smt Kunda Chodankar, Rajendra Gawade; Kishor Narvekar, Smt Dipika Prabhu, Smt. Shrimati Mandrekar, Vasudev Korgaonkar and officials who worked for North Goa ZP as administrators, such as Narayan Gad, S.V. Naik, and Kartik Kudnekar, all were felicitated at the hands of the Chief Minister.
CEO, North Goa Zilla Panchayat Ajay Gaude, who welcomed the guests earlier, presented mementoes to the dignitaries.
The function was attended by all ZP Members, including Sagun Wadkar Dhaku Madkaikar staff of North Goa Zilla Parishad and others.
Shri Pradip Naik compered the function while Vice President North Goa ZP proposed the vote of thanks.
