PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today launched the Goa EV Portal https://goaev.in developed by GEDA and AHAsolar Tech Ltd. to avail of the subsidy on Electric Vehicles.
“This portal will be a single window for EV buyers and users to apply at GEDA for government subsidy. I appeal to people to apply and avail themselves of the service available,” said Sawant in a post on social media
The programme, offers financial incentives for all EV models at a fixed cost of Rs 8,000 per car. Because an EV owner can take advantage of incentives under different headings, such as for retrofitting and scrapping or e-registering an ICE vehicle, the subsidy benefit adds up to a higher amount.
The maximum subsidy that can be applied to a two-wheeler is Rs 15,000, to a three-wheeler is Rs 60,000, and to an electric car is Rs one lakh.
This scheme is available from August 1, 2022, to December 31, 2024, on a first-come, first-served basis.
According to the plan, Goa is ranked 15th in the world for vehicle density, with 625 vehicles per 100 inhabitants.
“To achieve various goals, including improvement in air quality and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) for daily commuting is required.”
