PANAJI: In a major step towards enhancing workplace safety awareness, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday launched the Rs 2 crore ‘Skill-on-Wheels’ initiative at the Goa Occupational Safety & Health Expo & Summit 2025.
The project aims to deliver hands-on industrial safety training to rural communities across the state.
The mobile training units will focus on critical areas such as industrial fire and electrical safety, disaster management, fundamental well-being.
“This initiative is part of our commitment to ensuring safer workplaces and empowering people with the knowledge to prevent accidents,” Sawant said.
He also announced that safety training modules will soon be introduced in schools and colleges, helping build a strong foundation of safety practices among students and young professionals.
Sawant also urged all industrial sector professionals and government department officials to attend the 1st Goa Occupational Safety and Health Expo.
Sawant after witnessing the expo, they will prioritize labour safety and public safety, ultimately investing in necessary safety equipment
