THIVIM: It is the bounden duty of the people to take care and maintain Government project undertaken for the benefit of the public stated Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant after laying the foundation stone for the beautification of the lake and surrounding area near Shree Mahaganapati Temple at Madel, in Village, Panchayat, Thivim today. The beautification project is being carried out by the Department of Tourism and Goa Tourism Development Corporation.
The Chief Minister said the Government has plans for the better future of youth and intends to bring educational projects so that Goa will become an educational hub in future. This project will be completed as early as possible, the Chief Minister assured and exhorted the people to cooperate with the concerned authorities.
Minister for Tourism, Shri Rohan Khaunte while speaking on the occasion said it was the long pending dream of the local people to beautify the lake and surrounding area. The dream project has been provided with various facilities to cater to the needs of the people. He appreciated the Fisheries Minister for his endeavour in taking up this project.
Minister for Fisheries Nilkanth Halarnkar in his address complimented Tourism Minister for taking up beautification, thereby fulfilling the dream of the people. The beautification will enhance the beauty of the area, he added.
MP Rajya Sabha, Sadanand Shet Tanavde also spoke in praise of the Chief Minister for sanctioning the project.
He appealed to the people to take proper care of the facilities that are provided in the project which include Parking for four wheelers and two wheelers, Gathering Space, Mandapa -Multipurpose hall with stage, Kids Play Area, External Illumination, Gate, Lakeside pathway with seating and railing, Façade Illumination of temple and existing arch, Storm water drainage system, Lawns, fruit bearing and flowering trees etc
Earlier, the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant visited Assonora – the construction site of the by-pass road where he inspected the ongoing construction work and gave directions to provide better access for water to avoid water clogging during rains.
