PANAJI: Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant Offered tributes to Swatantryaveer Savarkar at the Cellular Jail Andaman on his 57th ‘Atmarpan’ Divas.
“I am honoured to visit and offer prayers at the Cell where Savarkar was kept and served rigorous imprisonment,” he said in his tweet.
He addressed the gathering organised by Shabdamrut Sanstha in the presence of Chief of Shabdamrut Shri Parth Bawaskar, Grandson of Swatantryaveer Savarkar Shri Ranjit Savarkar, Young singer Mugdha Vaishampayan and Savarkar Bhaktas from Maharashtra and Goa.
“101 Diyas were lit to offer tributes at the Cellular Jail. Songs written by Savarkar were sung at the gathering. I feel blessed to get an opportunity to witness such an event at the sacred place of India’s revolutionary freedom fighters,” he said.
