PONDA’ Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant reaffirmed that the ongoing campaign ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi’ represents the core philosophy of people-centric governance in Goa, aligning with the national vision under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Speaking at a public event titled ‘Viksit Bharat Ka Amrit Kaal – Seva, Sushasan, Garib Kalyan ke 11 Saal’ held at Ponda, Dr. Sawant highlighted that the Government of Goa has successfully implemented 80 percent of the 13 flagship Central Government schemes, with a focus on youth, women, farmers, and the underprivileged.
The event, organized by the Department of Information and Publicity, witnessed a large turnout and featured the distribution of 90 sanads under the Forest Rights Act to forest dwellers.
Dr. Sawant informed that 2,000 claims have already been settled and assured that the remaining 8,000 would be resolved by December 19, 2025. He stressed that these efforts are part of a larger commitment to inclusive growth and the upliftment of marginalized communities.
The Chief Minister also distributed sanction orders under various welfare schemes, including the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsha Abhiyan and eco-friendly movable fish kiosks provided under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana.
In a major push for rural women’s empowerment, financial grants of ₹3.19 crore were sanctioned to 13 cluster-level Self-Help Group federations, along with ₹6.43 crore disbursed to 18 federations under the PM Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana, encouraging entrepreneurship in rural areas.
Several infrastructure and social welfare achievements were recognized during the event. Officers from the Public Works Department were felicitated for their contribution to the Jal Jeevan Mission.
The Chorao Lion Trust received financial support for managing the Ummid Centre, and the IMA Ponda Charitable Trust was honored for its work in palliative care under the Directorate of Social Welfare.
The Community Managed Training Centre and the Lakhpati Didi Mascot, both under the Rural Development Department, were also virtually inaugurated.
Union Minister of State for Power and Renewable Energy, Shripad Naik, in his address, praised the collaborative efforts of the Central and State Governments in ensuring that essential services and welfare reach the last mile.
He said that these initiatives have helped the poor overcome hardships and improve their standard of living. The event also featured a video presentation showcasing Goa’s developmental journey and a booklet on Seva, Sushasan, Garib Kalyan* was released.
The event was attended by Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly Shri Ramesh Tawadkar, Deputy Speaker Joshua D’Souza, several Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, and senior government officers. Chief Secretary Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS, proposed the vote of thanks.
