VALPOI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today asserted that repeated attempts are being made by “outsiders” to create confusion in Sattari, maintaining that local residents are “straightforward and clear in their thinking.”
Addressing a public gathering, Sawant said the people of Sattari are not confused and understand the situation well. He also alleged that certain incorrect media reports contribute to misunderstandings among the public.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, who was present at the event, underlined the importance of unity, noting that both he and the Chief Minister represent the same region. Rane said he has consistently conveyed to Sawant that staying united is essential to counter what he described as a “negative campaign” and to ensure the BJP returns to power in the state.
During his address, the Chief Minister also announced that new buildings for the Mamlatdar and Collector offices will be constructed through the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC). He stated that suitable land for the project has already been identified.
Touching upon environmental concerns, Sawant said protecting forests is a collective responsibility. Referring to the growing issue of human-animal conflict, he stressed the need to safeguard greenery and wildlife while ensuring that development initiatives remain balanced and sustainable.
The Chief Minister further praised the efforts of Vishwajit Rane and Deviya Rane, stating that both leaders are accessible to the public at all hours and are consistently working for the welfare of the people.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Valpoi Fire Station, Sawant said the facility is more than a standard emergency response unit. Built at a cost of ₹7.5 crore, the centre will function as a training institute where students will receive professional firefighting instruction. Modeled on the Panaji fire headquarters, the new complex is equipped with modern infrastructure and includes recreational amenities for fire personnel.
