CANACONA: After a year long Centenary celebrations, the curtains will finally come down with a successive four days centenary programs and felicitations of over 160 ex-students and well wishers of Centro Promotor de Instrucao running Shri Mallikarjun Vidyalayas on 28th December 2023.
Addressing media, Centro Promotor De Instrucao (CPI) General Body Committee Chairman Rajendra Dessai and Management Committee Chairman Samba Naikdessai along with other committee members informed the culmination programs of the Centenary Celebrations of CPI will have a continuous functions for three-days from 25th of December 2023. While 50 ex-students and Welwishers of Shri Mallikarjun Vidyalaya will be felicitated each of the three-days, another batch of 10 dignitaries from Canaocna who excelled in various fronts will also be felicitated at the hands of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on coming Thursday (28th December’2023). Besides, Chief Minister, this culmination grand function will also be attended by Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar and Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phaldessai.
Samba Naikdessai informed that on 25th – Palak Melava, 26th – School Gathering , 27th – Felication functions will be held Morning and Evening session with the presence of Director of Education and Dy. Director of Education, respectively and on 28th Morning Felicitations in the presence of Dy. Director of Higher Education, while a Statue of Chaptrapathi Shivaji Maharaj will be unveiled 10 more prominent citizens studied in Canacona schools and reached at high positions will be felicitated at the hands of Chief Minister at the concluding function.
Incidentally CPI was established in the year 1922, and presently has a pre-primary school, Primary School, High School and Higher Secondary (in all 3 streams) in the name of Shri Mallikarjun Vidyalaya, at Char-Rasta.
CPI had launched the year long Centenary celebrations on 28th December’2022 at the hands of Governor of Goa , and organised various programs and activities throughout the year including a specific NIT Coaching , a first of its kind in Canacona taluka. In NIT there is enrolment of 50 students from Std XIth , and 25 students from Std XIIth and have 30 students in Foundation Course, while there 25 students enrolled in Foundation Course from each Class of Std 6th to 9th . Shri Mallikarjun Vidyalaya has 8 of its class rooms as Smart Class Rooms (launch 4-more on 28th Dec, and all 16 classrooms will be Smart Classrooms by the end of this academic year), has the modern of art E-Library and Laboratories
