Panaji: Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, has appealed for patience and calm amid protests against the proposed Unity Mall at Kadamba Plateau, which is claimed to fall within the zone of influence of the notified Toyyar Lake wetland.
On 21 January 2026, Dr. Sawant met representatives of the agitators at Mahalaxmi, Altinho, Panaji, and agreed to a joint site inspection and survey. The exercise will involve the agitators, their experts, and government officials, ensuring transparency and participation from all stakeholders.
“The inspection and survey will be completed by 27 January 2026. I urge everyone to remain calm and allow the process to take its course. We will review the findings together in a follow-up meeting at the earliest,” said CM Pramod Sawant.
