PANAJI: Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant met with Hon’ble Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in the presence of Vasco MLA SMKrishna “Daji” Salkar to discuss pressing concerns regarding the medical treatment of Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) beneficiaries in Goa.
The Chief Minister conveyed the grievances raised by the United Veterans Association of Goa, emphasizing the urgent need for improved access to quality healthcare for veterans and their families under the ECHS framework.
He urged the Defence Ministry to take prompt action to ensure that retired armed forces personnel in the state are not deprived of essential medical services.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh acknowledged the issue and assured the Chief Minister that the matter would be looked into with due seriousness.
He committed to taking necessary steps to address the concerns and find an early resolution in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
This development marks a positive step toward enhancing healthcare access for Goa’s ex-servicemen community, which has long awaited systemic improvements in the ECHS network.
