PORVORIM: Leader of Opposition (LoP) Yuri Alemao today said that the Congress party will contest both Lok Sabha seats in Goa.
“Goa needs an alliance, it is best if we do not split up; Cong should run for both LS seats, and the central leadership should determine whether or not an alliance will occur in Goa,” said Alemao.
He further said that AAP has two MLAs in Goa and they might have asked for a seat in Goa but it’s up to the central leadership of the Congress party to decide.
However, Kejriwal did not specify which of the two seats the AAP was eyeing to contest. “AAP is discussing a Goa seat as a part of the INDIA alliance.
“We will come back to you once something is decided. Whatever discussion that takes place, do vote for the INDIA alliance candidate in the Lok Sabha elections,” Kejriwal had said while addressing a public meeting in the Benaulim assembly segment in South Goa.
Alemao said that has moved five private member resolutions for the sixth session of the eighth Goa legislative assembly commencing on February 2.
The resolutions pertain to demand for anti-defection law, political reservations to ST and dual citizenship, Opinion Poll Day and unjust customs.
