Goa Pradesh Congress Committee has strongly condemned filling of chargesheet against Goa Mahila Congress team led by Adv. Pratima Coutinho, just for protesting against Power Bills hike.
The GPCC President Girish Chodankar, while reacting over issue of filling Chargesheet by Fatorda Police, said Goa Police were very quick in registering FIR and filing chargesheet against Congress members.
He further said that several complaints of corruption, narcotics, land grabbing, law and order, atrocities on women and other are pending with police, but police have showed no importance to those cases.
Furthermore, Police has no time to act on directions of Lokayukta on several cases related to corruption. “The way police showed enthusiasm in the case of Pratima Cutinho, should also show similar in other cases.” Girish Chodankar pointed out.
“Goa would have been a model state if such keen interest and enthusiasm had been showed in other pending cases.” He said.
“We warn CM not to use police to suppress our voice. Our Vice President Sankalp Amonkar was also arrested midnight for raising public issues that too on silly ground of not wearing mask. We have capacity to fight back and BJP Government’s police cannot pressurize us from exercising our constitutional right as a principal opposition party.”Chodankar said.
