PANAJI: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has expelled two of its leaders — Pradip Raghunath Dessai, a PCC Executive Member, and Devendra Prabhu Dessai — after concluding that both were involved in serious and repeated anti-party activities.
The action follows a directive issued by the AICC In-Charge Secretary. According to the order signed by GPCC president Amit S. Patkar, an examination of their conduct revealed that the two leaders had acted in total violation of the discipline, principles and interests of the Indian National Congress.
The GPCC stated that their behaviour amounted to deliberate and repeated anti-party conduct, which the party said could not be condoned under any circumstances.
With immediate effect, both leaders have been expelled from the Indian National Congress and will no longer hold any posts, responsibilities or membership at any level of the organisation.
