PANAJI: In a strategic move to strengthen its foothold in the state, the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) convened a key meeting under the leadership of President Amit Patkar.
The meeting was attended by AICC Incharge Manikrao Thakare, AICC Secretary Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar, South Goa MP Capt. Viriato Fernandes, MLAs Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira and Altone D’Costa, former Chief Minister Francisco Sardinha, and heads of the party’s frontal organizations.
The GPCC resolved to intensify its efforts against what it described as the BJP’s “vendetta politics,” while pledging to address pressing issues affecting the people of Goa — including rising inflation, unemployment, environmental degradation, and rampant corruption.
A major highlight of the meeting was the announcement of the upcoming Samvidhan Bachao Abhiyan, a statewide campaign aimed at raising public awareness about constitutional values and mobilizing citizens against alleged authoritarian tendencies of the ruling dispensation.
“We stand united to protect the rights of the people and restore democratic principles. The Samvidhan Bachao Abhiyan will serve as a vital platform for this mission,” said GPCC President Amit Patkar.
The Congress leaders reaffirmed their commitment to bringing about positive change in Goa, promising proactive engagement with grassroots issues and a people-centric approach.
