Panaji: The Goa Cricket Association has announced the selection of its representatives in the South Zone squad for the forthcoming Senior Women’s Inter Zonal One Day Trophy. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Bengaluru from March 5 to March 15, 2026.
Purvaja Verlekar has been named in the South Zone team, marking a significant milestone in her cricketing journey. Poorva Bhaidkar has been listed as a standby player, ready to step in if required during the competition. Adding to Goa’s presence in the squad, Rakshanda Pilankar has been appointed as the Performance Analyst for the South Zone team.
The inclusion of these representatives underscores the steady progress of women’s cricket in Goa and reflects the growing opportunities available to players and support staff from the state. Selection to the inter zonal tournament is regarded as a major achievement, as it brings together top performers from across the southern region to compete at a high level.
