PANAJI: Goa Police Crime Branch arrested a history-sheeter for being in possession of drugs – Amphetamine worth Rs 1.2 lakh.
According to police, a team led by PI Nitin Halarnkar conducted a narcotic raid & registered an offence vide Crime Branch P.S. Cr. No.15/2022 U/s 22 (b) of NDPS Act 1985, the effect that on 02/02/2023 at near college stop, Porvorim Bardez Goa accused Vinod Kayalvarath, S/o Sadan Kayalvarth, age 47 years r/o H.No. 201/1, Manshe Bhat, Hali Wado, Penha-De-Franca, Bardez Goa was found in possession of one transparent polyphone bag contains in a white colour crystalline substance suspected to be Amphetamine, weighing 08.00 grams, all worth Rs.1,20,000/- approximately in the international market which was attached.
The accused is a known history-sheeter and was previously involved in (1) Old P.S. 2006 u/s 302 r/w 149 IPC (sensational Bagira murder case), Porvorim PS Cr No.26/09 u/s 364 A, 392 r/w 34 IPC, Mapusa ps cr.no.63/2009 143, 147,148,307 r/w 149 IPC. The accused was drug peddling near the college stop, Porvorim & coastal areas.
