Mapusa: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Goa Crime Branch arrested two persons from Maharashtra and seized 30 kilograms of Ganja during a narcotics raid conducted near Duler Petrol Pump, Mapusa, in the early hours of June 11, 2025.
The operation, carried out between 1:40 am and 6:30 am, was led by Police Inspector Vikas Deykar, assisted by ASI Sriram Salgaonkar, ASI Dinesh Pikulkar, PC 6340 Sulesh Naik, PC 7295 Kritesh Kinalkar, PC 7576 Subha Gaonkar, and PC 8158 Prakash Utkuri.
The Accused:
1. Sukdev S/o Bhagwan Koli (Age 21), Resident of Post Savelde, District Dhule, Maharashtra
2. Ravindra S/o Vithal Bhil (Age 24), Resident of H. No. 137, Salvi, Amode, Shirpure, Dhule, Maharashtra
The duo was caught red-handed in possession of greenish flowering and fruiting tops of a plant, suspected to be Ganja, hidden in the dickey of a white Maruti Suzuki Ciaz (Reg. No. MH-05-BM-2020).
Seized Items:
* 30 kg of Ganja
* One white Maruti Suzuki Ciaz car (MH-05-BM-2020) – Approx. worth ₹10 lakhs
* One OnePlus black mobile phone – Approx. worth ₹10,000
* Cash amounting to ₹370
The total worth of the seizure is estimated at approximately ₹40,10,000/-. All items have been seized under a search and seizure panchanama.
A case has been registered at the Crime Branch Police Station, under Crime No. 72/2025, for offences punishable under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) of the NDPS Act, 1985.
Further investigation is being led by PI Vikas Deykar, under the supervision of DySP Crime Shri Rajesh Kumar and SP Crime Shri Rahul Gupta, IPS.
