PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Wednesday said that the state’s mission to strengthen cancer care is progressing rapidly, with a major push on early detection and accessible health services for all Goans.
Rane said that the government, in partnership with AstraZeneca and Qure.ai, has been conducting free AI-enabled lung cancer screenings across the state. “Our AI-powered screening programme ensures that every citizen receives state-of-the-art preventive care without any cost,” he said.
According to the minister, a total of 95,702 scans have been completed so far, helping identify potential risks at an early stage and allowing timely medical intervention. He added that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to building a “healthier, more resilient Goa where no one is left behind.”
The programme, officials said, will continue to expand as part of the state’s broader strategy to enhance cancer care and improve public health outcomes.
