PANAJI: In a move aimed at enhancing security, the District Collectors of North and South Goa have issued orders prohibiting certain activities within a 50-meter radius around all defence establishments and critical infrastructure facilities in North Goa. The new directive includes, but is not limited to, military bases, naval installations, fuel depots, communication stations, power stations, and airports. The restriction aims to safeguard national security and prevent any unauthorized or suspicious activity in sensitive areas. These measures are being enforced to ensure that the security of defence and strategic infrastructure remains intact and is not compromised by potential threats. The District Collectors emphasized that violators of these restrictions could face legal actions under relevant provisions of the law. Authorities have called for public cooperation to ensure that the directives are adhered to, and have urged vigilance from local communities to report any suspicious activity near these sensitive zones.
