PANAJI: The court acquitted the Israeli David Diham alias Dudu in the drug smuggling case and ordered the charge-fixing against the seven policemen involved in this operation.
During the hearing of the petition challenged by the five policemen in the High Court, the CBI and Dudu have been served a notice and the hearing has been postponed to September 25.
The CBI had filed a supplementary charge sheet against the then Deputy Superintendent of Police Naresh Mhamal, Sub-Inspector of Police Sunil Gudler along with Irmia Guraiya, Sameer Warkhandkar, Mahadev Naik, Nagesh Parsekar, Mahabaleshwar Sawant, who were involved in the raid, with allegations of conspiracy, filing false cases, misleading the court.
The sessions court had ordered framing of charges against this policeman during the hearing on the supplementary charge sheet. He has been challenged by five policemen.
