BENAULIM: Is TMC Leader Churchill Alemao’s act of filing a writ petition in the Delhi HC seeking orders to rebuild the Little Flower Church, which was demolished last year a political stunt especially when Goa elections are days ahead.
Adiocese of Faridabad condemned TMC Benaulim candidate Churchill Alemao’s act of filing a writ petition as a political stunt.
Clarifying his stance on filing a writ petition in the Delhi High Court seeking orders to rebuild the Little Flower Church, which was demolished last year, Churchill Alemao said, ‘The diocese of Faridabad claims that I am politicizing the issue. I want to make it crystal clear that it is my responsibility to be the voice for any religion when injustice is meted out. This time, I stand with my Christian brothers and sisters. And this isn’t the first time when I have sided with what is right,” said Alemao
He further said that everyone knows how he stood by my Muslim brothers when they were facing a hard time. But to say that I’m playing petty politics based on religion is wrong. I don’t need to do this to gain advantage.
Churchill said, ‘No one has the right to obstruct any community from practicing his or her religion, as per the Constitution.
