PANAJI: Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in Goa successfully deported a Pakistani national today who had been found overstaying in the state, marking another step in the authorities’ ongoing efforts to ensure stricter immigration control.
The individual had reportedly overstayed their visa, and following due procedure, was deported to their home country.
In a broader security initiative, Goa Police have been carrying out comprehensive combing operations and special verification drives throughout the state to strengthen law enforcement and monitor the presence of foreign nationals and individuals from sensitive regions.
As of now, a total of 12,828 persons have undergone verification checks, with 1,605 individuals placed under preventive arrest or detained for further questioning as part of these operations.
Authorities have also intensified the verification of 364 foreign nationals, ensuring that all foreign visitors are adhering to their legal stay conditions.
Additionally, as part of the heightened security measures, 247 individuals from Jammu and Kashmir have been thoroughly checked and verified, further reinforcing the state’s commitment to maintaining public safety and security.
These operations reflect the state’s proactive stance in addressing immigration concerns and preventing any potential security risks, especially in light of Goa’s growing prominence as a tourist destination.
Local authorities have assured that such verification drives will continue and be strengthened in the coming weeks to ensure public safety and compliance with immigration regulations.
