PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Tuesday chaired the 18th General Body Meeting of the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) to review and plan for the upcoming Goa State Film Festival.
The meeting, held in the presence of ESG Vice Chairperson and Siolim MLA Smt. Delilah Lobo, Chief Secretary, and senior officials, saw extensive deliberations on the upcoming 10th, 11th, and 12th editions of the festival.
Scheduled to be held from 14th to 17th August 2025, the back-to-back editions are part of a unique initiative to celebrate Goan cinema and cultural storytelling on a grand scale.
Key agenda points included the overall planning, logistics, film curation, publicity, and stakeholder coordination to ensure a seamless and impactful execution of the festival. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for greater engagement with local filmmakers and promotion of Konkani and Marathi cinema, highlighting the state’s commitment to nurturing its creative ecosystem.
Speaking after the meeting, Smt. Delilah Lobo stated, “This year’s triple-edition format is a significant opportunity to spotlight Goan talent and stories. ESG is fully committed to delivering an enriching cinematic experience for audiences and filmmakers alike.”
The Entertainment Society of Goa, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Publicity, is expected to announce detailed programming, film submissions, and participation guidelines in the coming weeks.
The festival is anticipated to draw film lovers, critics, and creators from across Goa and beyond, further cementing the state’s position as a vibrant hub for regional cinema.
