Porvorim:The Directorate of Education, Government of Goa, has announced a revision in the material cost of mid-day meals under the PM POSHAN scheme, effective from May 1, 2025. The revised rates apply to all Parent Teacher Associations, Self Help Groups, and Mahila Mandals involved in the provision of meals to students across Balvatikas, Government and Government-Aided Primary, and Upper Primary Schools in the state.
According to the circular issued by Director of Education Shailesh R. Zingde, the new daily per-child meal rates are as follows:
•Pre-primary/Balvatika: ₹9.33
•Primary: ₹9.33
•Upper Primary: ₹12.00
The Directorate has clarified that the revised rates only reflect changes in the cost structure, while the quantity, nutritional content, and other guidelines related to the meals will remain unchanged.
Heads of institutions have been instructed to strictly adhere to the revised instructions to ensure consistency and compliance with the PM POSHAN scheme norms.
Copies of the circular have also been forwarded to all Dy. Directors of Education (North/Central/South), school heads, A.D.E.I.s, and IT officials for implementation and monitoring.
