PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that Racing Promotions Pvt Ltd (RPPL) has entered into a three-year partnership with the Goa government and the GMR Group to organise Formula 4 racing events in the state.
The newly developed infrastructure at Mopa will remain in place throughout the agreement, ensuring that future editions of the event can be held without additional construction or setup.
Speaking on the significance of the initiative, Sawant highlighted that hosting international motorsport events is vital for boosting global confidence in Goa’s ability to manage high-profile competitions.
He added that creating world-class facilities and a supportive sporting environment is a key step towards the state eventually hosting Formula One.
Sawant also mentioned that RPPL has the freedom to introduce more car racing events independently, paving the way for increased national and international motorsport activities in Goa.
