PANAJI: On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra (Vijayadashami), Governor P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Goa.
In his message, Governor Raju described Dussehra as “a celebration of the timeless triumph of good over evil, truth over falsehood, and light over darkness.” He said the festival commemorates Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and Goddess Durga’s triumph over Mahishasura—symbols of the inner and outer battles faced by all.
The Governor urged Goans to overcome negativity with courage, righteousness, and unity, emphasizing the importance of dharma, compassion, and integrity in daily life. “On this joyous occasion, I urge everyone to work towards building a harmonious and inclusive society, filled with hope, kindness, and mutual respect,” he said, wishing all a happy and prosperous Dussehra.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, in his message, wished that the festival “takes away all your worries and fills your lives with happiness, prosperity, and the fulfillment of your dreams.” He highlighted Dussehra’s significance in symbolizing the eternal triumph of good over evil, inspiring people to follow the path of truth, courage, and virtue.
Dr. Sawant further said, “Dussehra is not just about burning Ravana—it is about conquering the evil within us. No matter how strong the darkness of unrighteousness, the light of truth and righteousness always prevails.” He encouraged Goans to draw inspiration from the festival to embrace wisdom, morality, and goodness.
Aligning with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Viksit Bharat 2047, the Chief Minister added, “May the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat – Swayampurna Goa light up the lives of every Goan with success and development.”
Concluding his message, Dr. Sawant said, “Let us celebrate this joyous festival with unity, enthusiasm, and renewed hope. May Dussehra bring happiness, harmony, and prosperity to every home. Wishing everyone a Dussehra full of joy, strength, and success.”
