PANAJI: Governor of Goa P.S. Sreedharan Pillai and Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant extended warm wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Eid-ul-Zuha (Bakri Id), a festival celebrated by Muslims across the world to commemorate the spirit of sacrifice and devotion.
In his message, Governor Pillai said that the festival, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is marked with great enthusiasm and traditional fervour. It stands as a reminder of values such as forgiveness, compassion, and charity, and plays a vital role in promoting harmony and brotherhood among all communities. He called upon people of all religions to reaffirm their commitment to peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.
“May the celebrations of Eid-ul-Zuha foster greater peace and unity among people,” the Governor said.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant also conveyed his greetings, particularly to the Muslim community. He said the festival serves as a reminder of the importance of kindness, empathy, and love—qualities that contribute significantly to social harmony.
“On this blessed occasion, let us unite in the spirit of togetherness to work towards a progressive and inclusive society, and contribute to the state’s overall development,” the Chief Minister stated.
