PANAJI: The Governor P. S. Sreedharan Pillai in his fourth round of “Khushal Kalyan Yatra” visited Parcem in Pernem, Kasarpal in Bicholim, Valpoi and Betim in Bardez taluka in North Goa today. First Lady of Goa Smt. Rita Sreedharan Pillai accompanied the Governor.
The Governor began his yatra by visiting Shree Bhagwati Temple in Parcem Pernem. Shri Praveen Arlekar, MLA welcomed him. On behalf of Shree Bhagwati Temple, Shri Anand Rao Dessai, Treasurer and Manguish Desai, Shamsundar Naik Desai, Surendra Desai offered bouquet of flowers to the Governor.
On arrival, the Governor Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai and First Lady of Goa Rita Sreedharan Pillai offered prayers at Shree Bhagwati temple temple.
The Governor was felicitated by Shri Praveen Arlekar, MLA and Ajay Kalangutkar, Sarpanch of Parcem village by offering Shawl, Sreephal and a memento.
Later, the Governor visited Hutatma Chowk and paid homage by placing a wreath at Hutatma Chowk in Parcem Pernem.
On his arrival at Shree Devi Mahamaya Kalika temple, Kasarpal in Bicholim taluka the Governor was welcomed by Dr. Chandrakant Shetye, MLA.
Governor Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai and First Lady of Goa Smt. Rita Sreedharan Pillai offered prayers at Shree Devi Mahamaya Kalika Temple.
Later, the Governor visited Shree Hanuman Temple in Valpoi and offered prayers. Shri Deelip Karpe, President of Shree Hanuman Devasthan Samiti, Smt. Prasanna Gawas, Chairperson of Valpoi Municipal Council, Shri Tulshidas Kanekar and others were present.
On his arrival at Zamiya Masjid in Valpoi, Shri Khudbuddin Shah, President, Shri Akhtar Shah and others gave a warm welcome to the Governor. Maulana offered prayers on behalf of the Governor in masjid. Later, the Governor visited Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Valpoi and offered prayers.
Parish Priest Fr. Winston Barbosa welcomed the Governor. Others present were Assistant Priest Fr. Robert, Fr. Agnelo Fernandes, Fr. Lawrenco and others graced the occasion.
During his yatra the Governor also visited Gurudwara at Betim in Bardez taluka.
During Khushal Kalyan Yatra the Governor offered prayers at all the places of worships that he visited, invoking divine blessings for peace, happiness and welfare of the people of Goa and the Nation.
The Governor presented a cheque of Rs. 50,000/ each to all the holy places that he visited today.
The Governor was accompanied by Shri Sanjeev Gauns Desai, Secretary to the Governor, Shri R. Mihir Vardhan, Special Officer to Governor, Shri, Sanjeev Sardesai, Historian and Shri A. Kalyana Harsha, Comptroller of Governor’s Household and others.
